Matagorda Island: a Naturalist's Guide

I haven't finished the book. However, I had the privilege of meeting the authors. The Texas Master Naturalist-Cradle of Texas went as a group to Matagorda Island. We were escorted by Wayne & Martha McAlister while there. The book was a nice addition, because I can now go back and read about what I saw while there, as well as see what else is there we didn't see. The book is a great read for those interested in one of the last untouched islands, being guarded and protected by the federal as well as state government. I highly recommend this book, not only are the authors well educated on their topic, but they lived there for ten years learning about all of the islands wonderful environmental and ecological delights. What an opportunity for us to preserve this for our posterity! I am grateful that Amazon still caries such a great copy of this book. I was so delighted when I saw what great condition the book itself was in.
